Saving for College

Yes, the expectation is that your family will have money to contribute toward the cost of higher education.  College savings can seem like a low priority when children are small--- especially with other more pressing financial needs.  The key is being disciplined and budgeting some money each month for college, even when the kids are younger.  There are a number of quality college savings tools including Coverdell Accounts, 529 Plans (www.collegesavings.org), and US Savings Bonds

 

Regardless of where you are in the timeline before college--- if you haven't already started saving, do so now.
